A short drive to the countryside takes you to the home of prominent composer Jean Sibelius, Ainola, which was named after his wife Aino. The 1904 timber-framed house was designed by Finnish architect Lars Sonck, who incorporated elements of the National Romantic style and traditional Finnish architectural motifs. A private residence for more than 60 years, the house is now open to the public from May to October.
