Veteran choreographer and Montréal native Daniel Léveillé has been acclaimed not only as a leader in contemporary dance but as an innovator as well. His work Solitudes Solo was widely praised for its ability to lead audiences to question their preconceptions of dance and the role of the dancer through radical, physically challenging choreography. He returns to TransAmériques with Solitudes Duo, a romantic and sensual piece with elements of humor as well. The performance revolves around a couple and energies that are masculine, feminine, and mixed, in one movement after another. The work includes the acrobatic feats audiences expect from Léveillé, and moments of tenderness as well. This performance of strength, grace, and emotion, blended together in a demanding piece, will delight audiences.
