Acre BajaWhy We Love It The adults-only property is a tucked-away desert oasis where the food is way better than it needs to be. Highlights: -Sample rare and small-batch spirits at the on-site mezcalaria and tasting room, or get active on the bocce and badminton courts. -The resort is home to a menagerie of animals that include peacocks, Nigerian dwarf goats, and an adorable rescued donkey named Burrito. -While there’s no spa on property, guests can indulge in pre-prandial pampering at a poolside treatment room or on the tree houses’ private patios. The food alone makes a visit to this out-of-the-way bolt hole worth the trip: Well-heeled travelers who venture down a rough dirt road to the 25-acre organic farm in San Jose del Cabo are rewarded with inventive cocktails made with house-grown ingredients and dishes that blend local traditions and global influences (chicken chicharrón–studded scallop ceviche; a cloche-enclosed herb-smoked negroni). But the 12 stylish thatch-and-wood tree houses make staying the night a no brainer. As in the restaurant, the linens, lighting, and furniture are crafted by local artisans, and rooms feature outdoor showers, perfectly sited hammocks, and king-size beds. There’s no beach access on property, but the infinity pool is its own sort of dessert mirage, lined with crisp white chaises and nestled within endless palm-fringed vistas; guests are welcome at the private beach club five minutes away at El Ganzo Hotel.
