Abraco is a true East Village coffee bar. The cafe is always packed with locals, and the espresso drinks never disappoint. There's not much room to stand inside (so don't you dare bring your laptop!) but there's typically a handful of people and pets surrounding a standing table outside–even in the dead of winter. When the weather is pleasant, grab your coffee to go and walk another avenue East to Tompkins Square Park.
Seeking a snack? Sample a slice of the perfectly moist olive oil cake.Their Little Eggie sandwiches are a good savory second choice. As far as beverages go, the cortado is exceedingly on point, and the iced coffee tastes as though if are hints of cocoa in it.
A few quick things to note: Abraco is cash only, family owned, and closed on Mondays. The baristas aren't snooty, and the music is always just right.
