Travel company ABOUTAsia likes to boast that you’ll see ‘Angkor without the crowds’. I saw more people at temples such as Ta Prohm on the tour I tested out than I have when I’ve gone on my own, so I don’t buy into the marketing and don’t believe their tours are any better than other companies when it comes to avoiding tour groups. A better reason for doing one of their tours in my opinion is the fact that they donate 100% of their profits to education programs in local communities, supporting schools by providing supplies, running English classes, operating a teacher training academy, and training volunteers. They also put on one of the fanciest afternoon teas on their temple tours - something the dozens of other tour companies I’ve tested out don’t offer!
