The location of Abigaile in Hermosa Beach has a varied history, formerly serving as an artist’s co-op, a rehearsal space for Black Flag, and a church, among other responsibilities. Abigaile’s varied menu seems to pay tribute to this history with its wide array of inventive dishes. Menu items mix cultures and flavors, ranging from fried chicken to pho. My favorite items are the Tin Tin Noodles with spicy sesame pork, Thai basil, and a poached egg, and Duck Confit French Dip with Havarti, pepperdew salsa verde, and butternut and sage au jus.
But Abigaile doesn’t just focus on food, it also hosts a small craft brewery on the premises (a brewpub was also one of the space’s former iterations) and range of their brews is always on tap.
