Recent investment in advance of Århus’s turn as European Capital of Culture 2017 has resulted in hefty upgrades for the city’s harborfront. The once forlorn docksides now make for a scenic urban walking route that takes in stops for street food, a sea swimming school, and cutting-edge architecture in the form of the jutting white points of the Isbjerget (Iceberg) building and the striking spaces of Dokk1, the new public library, cultural center and public space in the inner harbor.
