A new spin on the gin & tonic at these Thai resorts
Akaryn Hotel Group's Aleenta Hua Hin Resort & Spa Pranburi and akyra Beach Club Phuket have recently launched new gin & tonic concepts.

At Aleenta Hua Hin the mixologist sources ingredients from both the resort’s organic farm and other local farms to infuse botanicals and develop the aromas of the premium gin & tonics. Meanwhile at the akyra Beach Club, inventive guests can try their hand at playing bartender for the day.

At Hua Hin, the mixologist has concocted a butterfly pea petal cocktail called the Hendrick’s Gin and Mediterranean Tonic, which is floral with hints of fresh cucumber. For those with a more refined palette, the Bitter Truth Pink Gin & Indian Tonic makes use of a semi bitter citrus oil and quinine; it sports notes of cherry, orange blossoms, and grated lime. The creative cocktails are served in special glasses called Copa de Balon, designed to trap the aromas of the gin, while preventing the ice from melting quickly and diluting the drink.

Young-hearted guests seeking to play bartender for the day will appreciate the opportunity to shake things up at the akyra Beach Club. The exceptional gin options offered include Hendrick’s, G’Vine Floraison, G’Vine Nouaison, Bitter Truth Pink, Ungava Premium, Martin Miller’s and Kristall G #13 Gin. Guests can mix and match the eight premium gins with three exotic tonics to create their own signature cocktail. with 24 possible combinations.

In the last decade, gin has become very popular in Thailand, and both the Aleenta Hua Hin and akyra Beach Club seek to offer guests a place to enjoy a uniquely, Thai take on the classic gin & tonic cocktail in a beautiful oceanfront setting.
