The Castillo De San Marcos in St.Augustine is a breath-taking sight to see. It is an amazing place to go with family and friends. There are rich artifacts in numerous rooms, mysterious carvings on the walls left by soldiers, and cannons set on planks at the top of the fortress. Throughout the monument you can almost only imagine what it was like to live back then and how the pistols and cannons shot so loudly. As you run your hands across the walls, you will notice they were made out of bits of shells and gravel! If you go at certain times you will catch small shows and can take a small trolley ride throughout the city for a couple bucks. Even a carriage ride if you are in the mood. Especially, at night to see the beautifully lit streets! And don't miss out on the "haunted" trolley ride through the prisons near the village towns that are also hosted at sundown.
