3 Nagas Luang Prabang - MGallery by Sofitel
Part of Sofitel's MGallery collection, a group of elegant boutique hotels managed by the French luxury chain, 3 Nagas is a serene, intimate property with only 15 rooms spread across two gorgeous villas. Seven are located in the circa-1898 Lamache House, which once housed the official ice cream supplier of the royal court; a bottle of ice cream flavoring was found during renovations and is on display in the lobby to this day. The remaining rooms are in the Khamboua House, which dates to 1903 and was allegedly constructed using wood transported on elephants from across the adjacent Nam Khan river. Accommodations have elegant French colonial–style decor, with ceilings, floors, and furniture (including four-poster beds) made out of dark hardwood, and the absence of televisions helps maintain the quiet atmosphere. The suites also have lovely large balconies with lounge chairs and views of the hotel's luscious central garden or out over the historic city. There's also a lovely restaurant with Lao specialties, including a curated degustation menu and lots of vegetarian options. Guests are welcome to use the pool, spa, and fitness facilities at the Sofitel Luang Prabang, a short shuttle ride away.
