1780 Lower Estate Sugar Works Museum
Tortola, British Virgin Islands
1780 Lower Estate Sugar Works Museum This museum tells the story of the BVI through artifacts and exhibits that show what life was like on the islands several generations ago. The estate was originally built by the McCleverly slaves, but by 1900, the government acquired the works and produced sugar there until the 1940s. There are also monthly art exhibitions at the museum that showcase the artistic talent of the BVI’s locals.
