The latest installment of our biweekly hotel news column focuses on what's happening across the country, from a NOLA retreat debuting in time for Jazz Fest to a new outpost of New York City's Momofuku restaurant empire  in Las Vegas.

Ace Hotel New Orleans in New Orleans, LA
Housed in a 1928 building, NOLA's first Ace property takes its inspiration from the city's Art Deco past. The 234 rooms are designed with Roman and Williams lighting and bespoke furnishings; suites are outfitted with turntables and acoustic guitars. The hotel is opening its doors right before Jazz Fest in April, and will partner with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, WWOZ New Orleans radio station, and other local musicians to host events during the week-long festival.

Urban Cowboy Nashville in Nashville, TN
New York City-based hotelier Lyon Porter, whose Urban Cowboy Brooklyn is one of the borough's hippest retreats, is taking on Nashville with his second B&B.  An 1890s Queen Anne Victorian manse was renovated into eight high-design guest rooms (handmade wallpaper; cool copper bedframes), which Porter calls "Southwestern Deco." We're most excited about the music parlor—a space filled with instruments where guests and local performers can have impromptu jam sessions.

Opal Sands Resort in Clearwater, FL
This new oceanfront property sits directly on the sandy white shores of Clearwater Beach, and offers panoramic views of the Gulf from each of the 230 rooms and suites. The interiors are a mix of soothing neutral woods and modern geometric designs. Visitors can sip on tropical drinks at the beachside tiki bar by day, and then enjoy a Italian-seafood meal at Seaguini by night.

Interactive Art Program at Thompson Chicago in Chicago, IL
The Thompson Chicago has launched a hands-on art program with the Hyde Park Art Center, where guests team up with local artists to create an original piece of artwork that guests will eventually take home. The program culimates in an end-of-year exhibit of collaborative works at the Hyde Park Art Center.

Momofuku and Milk Bar Opening at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, NV
David Chang has just announced the westward expansion of his NYC-based Momofuku empire to the food-centric Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. The Asian-inflected Momofuku, along with an outpost of Milk Bar (Momofuku’s sister bakery) are set to open at the end of this year.

Indian Accent at Le Parker Meridien in New York, NY
Chef Manish Mehrotra recently opened the first outpost of his acclaimed New Delhi-based Indian Accent restaurant in the Le Parker Meridien. On the menu: lesser-known Indian dishes, with his signature international twist (duck Chettinad with foie gras; shiso-leaf chaat). Seated guests can choose a two-, three-, or four-course culinary experience, or opt for a full tasting menu upon request.
