Who says travel time can’t be productive? Certainly not the folks at Etsy Studio, who are partnering with JetBlue this week to launch a crafting pop-up in Terminal 5 at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).
The pop-up, formally dubbed “Craft with Etsy Studio & JetBlue,” will feature a craft bar, do-it-yourself craft stations, and kits for travelers to buy and take along on their travels. The goal: To encourage travelers to keep creating no matter where they are.
Dayna Isom Johnson, a trend expert at Etsy, says that on the cusp of summer and summer travel, the promotion is an attempt to help people recognize that creativity knows no bounds.
“There’s no better time try a DIY than when you’re passing time in a car, on a train, or on a flight,” she said in a statement. “We’re excited to see how JetBlue travelers tap into their own creativity and keep making wherever their summer travels take them.”
In conjunction with the activation, partners also are encouraging crafty travelers to share their creations on Instagram with the hashtag, #KeepMaking. Any U.S. resident can submit an entry—even if he or she has not visited the pop-up or passed through JFK. Heck, you don’t even have to be traveling to participate; so long as you make something, snap a pic, and tag it on Insta, you’re in. Every participant receives one chance to win a $1,000 gift card from Etsy and two round-trip travel vouchers on JetBlue.
