A Day in Zaanse Schans
save list
In this replica of a Dutch village in the 17th century, you'll return to a time powered by wind, when age-old crafts like clog-making, pewter molding and artisanal cheese-making were practiced in Holland. It's a bit touristy for some, but traditional wooden houses, shops and windmills in a pastoral landscape make it well worth a day trip, less than an hour from Amsterdam by train
