This little private church is probably the most photographed stop in Oia. Our rented house was right next to it but lower on the steps so we could see lots of people getting lots of photos. Married couples would take their photos next to it, photographers were offering workshops that included this spot. I woke up at 5.30AM to wonder when nobody else was around. Best time of day to walk around this very busy tourist destination.

The past couple summers we’ve gone to extraordinary efforts to get to Santorini for the sole purpose of having lunch at Dimitris. The setting, the owner (Joy) and the food make it our favorite place to dine in over 75 countries. From the grouper to the zucchini and tomato fritters to the tzatziki and baklava, the food is extraordinary. We’ve never stayed for the sunset, but that’s supposed to be spectacular from there too. It’s worth the hike down the stairs from Oia!
