Hi Marissa,

There are a lot of dining options that are scattered all over the valley. If you have something more specific in mind, let me know and I can give you more options. Two restaurants that quickly come to mind are Chop House and Palmie. Chop house is a large steak house establishment with a great bar, cocktail list, etc. The food is good. I wouldn't call it amazing, but it satisfies. Palmie is a cozy little authentic french bistro that I have been to three times and each time I was very impressed with the simple, yet very delicious French fair. It's an older clientele and definitely not somewhere to go if you are looking for a scene. Both places are in a mall. Very common in that area.

Oh, there is also a lively night scene at The Yard House, which is a chain and you have probably heard of. It's very popular though and attracts a pretty good crowd, especially on a Fri/Sat evening. Here is the link:

Best of luck! Hope you find a good place!

I was born and raised in PD, so I have some ideas. You just need to tell me what you're looking for. Like Lisa said, there are restaurants scattered all over the valley. Are you looking to stay in PD? One place i like is No Da Te (japanese on El Paseo). Intimate and fun if you sit at the sushi bar. Last time i was there Pete Sampras showed up. :) Another is Ristorante Mamma Gina. My buddy Jake Pierattoni is the manager there and will take care of you. Just tell him you know me.

Hi Marissa,

I live here in the desert and have for nearly 20 years.  Without more specifics, it's hard to answer the question.  Are Rancho MIrage or La Quinta options?

My favorites are:

In Palm Desert:

La Bella Cucina (Italian) across from the Vons supermarket between Hwy. 111 and El Paseo (near the West end)

Armandos (Mexican) on El Paseo

Pacifica is "ok" for seafood

My favorite restaurant in the valley is located near Old Town La Quinta (near the bottom of the La Quinta cove).  It is Desert Sage.  I HIGHLY recommend it and is where we spend Christmas Eve for our dinner.  Wonderful setting, service, and food!

Sorry...I just noticed that you're staying in Indian Wells.

Try the IW club right in front of your hotel.  If you want good Southwest, just go right across Hwy 111 to Vicky's of Santa Fe.  Both are very good.
