When I was there, The House of Three Canals, The Jewish Quarter, Old Men's Gateway and we took a trip down the canals, just the houses along the canals were wonderful. The resistance museum, I think it was called the Verzets Museum, Rembrandt's museum,  all the museums were fabulous and the food was outstanding. Only ate what the people in the area ate. We took a canal boat when we left the country, that was interesting.

Don't miss the Fran Hals Museum in Haarlem ... also when you're in Haarlem, ask at the VVV for a map of the begijnhofjes in Haarlem.  Courtyard housing for the elderly .. they are remarkable to see, perfectly scaled, enchanting spaces, hundreds of years old.

This question is said to be "sponsored by Holland", which makes one doubt that it is a real question.

Yes, Joe Luttrell, the questions do have the phony ring of coming from someone trying to promote Holland.    But still, that said--
I loved our visit to an oddball museum that we discovered, the Tassenmuseum, or the Museum of Handbags and Purses, on Herengracht 573:Tassenmuseum.nl
Now trust me here -- it's four floors originally a private collection, dating from the Middle Ages to the bags of present day celebrities.   Every bag has a story, in the materials, the design, the construction methods -- all of which reveals so much about the place and time of origins.  Over 3000 bags, some very odd, some gorgeous, and a great gift shop.   Exceeded my expectations, and would interest anyone interested in history, fashion, design, textiles, etc.
