Question
Traveling to New Zealand in a few weeks. Any suggestions for good (and affordable) restaurants in Auckland, Arrowtown, Reefton, and Wellington?

Hi Bill,
I found this question that had some great answers which could potentially help you decide where to eat.
I will be in Auckland and Wellington NZ later this year. Any quirky sites (shops, restaurants, natural sites, museums) I shouldn't miss?
if you're looking for something more specific try directly messaging someone in the question thread. I hope this helps and good luck!
Best wishes and happy travels,
Allison

Add a commentHi Bill,
How did your friends get on? I thought I'd post my answer to you here so others can get some ideas when visiting too...
Here's a list that might interest them:
- SPQR, Ponsonby, Auckland. A long standing establishment - rowdy, fun, outside tables. http://www.spqrnz.co.nz/. My favourite dish is their snapper.
- Tyler St Garage. Go upstairs for a wee view across the harbour. Relaxed, laid back. Decent platters and pizza. Flick along the gallery page here to check out the outside area upstairs http://www.tylerstreetgarage.co.nz/gallery
- Waiheke Island. A 35min ferry ride away but worth it. Check out http://www.facebook.com/l/rAQAfHwy4AQD2WJ3yQbBfylW67KR08Q7Z_DzDeXNpQxezSg/waiheke.aucklandnz.com/things-to-do/vineyards-and-wineries.html for all the vineyards to choose from
- Cable Bay, Waiheke Island. My favourite vineyard there with a scupture trail and views to die for http://www.cablebayvineyards.co.nz/about_us.cfm
- The new Wynyard Quarter: Just opened up. North facing so gets the sun. Check out Marvel Grill http://www.marvelgrill.co.nz/ and here's the precinct's website too http://www.waterfrontauckland.co.nz/Areas/Wynyard-Quarter/Things-To-Do.aspx
- Wellington: The Matterhorn. Fantastic http://www.matterhorn.co.nz/about
- Wellington: Dockside restuarant. Very fresh fish and seafood specialists http://www.docksidenz.com/page/home.aspx
- Wellington: Logan Brown. Renowned local restaurant but a little bit pricier fine dining. For that special night out. http://www.loganbrown.co.nz/
Cheers,
Guy.
