Question
Sweet stroopwafels, crumbly aged Gouda, a steaming bowl of stamppot, a savory pannenkoeken, or a fresh Zeeland oyster- all are iconic Dutch foods that are best experienced in Holland. But the country is also hotbed of new flavors with international flair led by a crop of experimental new chefs.
What dutch treats and foods do you crave?

My friend brought back these Dutch waffle cakes (I can't remember the name) when she went, and I simple cannot get enough of them.

Add a commentStroopwaffles are my favorite cookie. When I lived in Holland I would go to the market each week and get them in the mini size and so fresh and gooey! I also love the fries with the special mayo, curry and onions.

Add a commentAnd Indonesian food too. Whenever friends or family tell me they are vacationing in Amsterdam, I tell them they must have some Indonesian food there. But no one ever does because they think that's just crazy talk.

It's been a decade or two since I've been in Holland, but the stroopwafels live on in my memories still!

Add a commentFood & Wine are my vices, so I'm sure I'll love the cheese and wine pairings when I finally get to AMS! It's on my bucket list - despite losing my USA job to a Dutch company.

Add a commentIf you can swing once pricey meal in Amsterdam you MUST go to De Kas. Amazingly fresh flavors. The restaurant is in a greenhouse (where a lot of the produce is grown). It was really one of the best meals of my life: http://www.restaurantdekas.nl/
