Hidden Restaurant for Locals is Triple George's steakhouse, great drinks and steak and local atmosphere and located in downtown Las Vegas...Go to Crown and Anchor English Pub, throw $20 in the video poker machines and get a free lunch (good food) and drink all you want while gambling...Anywhere at Bellagio or Wynn is a splurge...

Add a commentHi everyone. Just now joined up with AFAR. Hoping to learn lots of inside info from those who have traveled the world.
I have to agree with Julia - Panevino Restaurant can't be beat - pricey but not super $$$$s. Service is superb food is excellent and you can't beat the view of the Strip. What's not to like about this special place. Still having leftovers of Osso Bucco from last Saturday night. Bon Apetit.

Add a commentDo you want to have a great meal, or just spend money? For steak - I know it sounds stupid, but the Steakhouse at Circus Circus is excellent. And the Steakhouse at the top of Harrahs is excellent. Both are pricey. STK at the new Cospmopoitan sucks and is ridiculously expensive. In my opinion, Vegas restaurants are over-rated. Panavino is off the Strip toward the airport and is excellent. Also the Capital Grill and Maggiano's in the Fashion Show Mall are both good. I know you can get a discount at these last 2 restaurants if you get the Fashion Show Mall coupon book from DestinationCoupons.com. Check this http://tinyurl.com/4kejmjz

Add a commentReasonable - the Firely Lounge (tapas) on Paradise Road. They have a nice happy hour on weekdays too and it's off strip. Buffets: Wynn seafood buffet ($40 per person) is nice. Wicked Spoon Buffet at the Cosmopolitan ($25-lunch).
Splurge is harder- Take your pick...there are plenty of pricey high-end restaurants to choose from. Sushi, Steak etc...depends what you feel like. I like the Golden Steer on Sahara for a Vegas old-school vibe, some visitors don't like the red leather and velvet feel. Everything is ala carte, but big portions and nice cuts....I hear great things about the Steakhouse @ Circus Circus too. Also depends on if you can get a reservation to the place of your choice...

Add a commentLove the Stratosphere restaurant. Fantastic views (360 degrees) and delicious food! If you want to splurge on a buffet (I know that doesn't sound like a splurge), check out the Wynn. Fantastic buffet with many gourmet choices.

Add a commentIf you like Thai food there is a little place at the end of the strip (towards downtown on Las Vegas Blvd) called Thai BBQ. It looks a little scary on the outside but it's to die for!! I make sure to go there every time I'm in town. Also, if you like seafood the Rio Seafood Buffet is great, but a little expensive.

Add a commentAffordable Las Vegas classics, I'd hit up Firefly and Peppermill. The best splurge I'd suggest is Sunday brunch at Simon.
