I have a Friday afternoon and a Saturday morning to spend in San Jose, Costa Rica before meeting up with some other people and heading to another part of the country. I hear San Jose isn't the most amazing part of CR, but we'd still love to make the best of it. Anyone got some fun suggestions for me?? Thanks!

The Museo del Oro is about the coolest thing there. They have an impressive collection of pre-colombian gold artifacts from the region.
Other than that I went to a grocery store and found that they were giving out free samples of Costa Rican rum in the liquor aisle. I walked out feeling better than I walked in.

I would suggest for Saturday morning trying to arrange to get out to see Poas Volcano about 30 min away from San Jose. Your hotel should be able to set that up for you.
