Question

I am traveling to St. Lucia in the next few days. This is actually three questions:

1 - What is the best way to get from
Hewanorra International Airport to the Soufriere area?

2- What is the bug issue? I have heard a fair amount of talk about gnats and flies on other islands, but nothing about St. Lucia.

3 - Does anyone have any commentary on the best action activities to do on the island {given that we will have a short time there}?

I would do a shuttle transfer and just negotiate a price before you get in the van. There's pretty much just one main road in St. Lucia so I've just gone this route whenever going to and from the airport. Not sure about the bug issue. I was there in December and it wasn't a problem. As far as action activities, I would definitely do ziplining through the rainforest. Some beautiful views from the top of the canopy. Also, the Pitons are great for hiking.

Thanks for the info! We have already returned from the trip...and it was great. We were there for a such wee short time, so we ended up looking into and the options you mentioned, but saving them for a return visit. Spent all of our time snorkeling and sea kayaking.
