Headed to Nicaragua soon - spending a few days in Granada before hitting the beach. Any must-sees in Granada? Day trips outside the town?

Try and plan a trip out to Isla Ometepe. The ferry leaves Granada daily. There are some great activities, such as climbing Volcan Madera, visiting the coffee finca, renting a motor scooter and touring the island, and just getting out on the vast lake.

Add a commentYou can't go wrong in Granada. I include a list of must-sees in my book, MOON NICARAGUA, but you can begin at the bell tower here: http://blog.joshuaberman.net/07-12/exploring-granada%E2%80%94nicaraguas-colonial-jewel.html
Have a great trip!

Add a commentTake a boat ride around Lake Nicaragua. Boats leave from just outside of Granada. You've also got near by Masaya. I recommend Masaya Market and taking a trip to Masaya Volcano.
