Has anyone been to Uganda? I've already planned a trek to see the mountain gorillas but wondering about other "must see" places and things to do. I have roughly 5-7 days to fill.

I loved the town of Jinja, great adventure experiences including white water rafting down the Nile (I used the company called Adrift and they were amazing!).    They also have bungee jumping, speed boating and kayaking.  I was traveling with Gap Adventures and we were able to volunteer with the local organization called Soft Power, which allowed us to meet local kids and give back to the community.  Have fun!

Several years ago I visited Mweya Safari Lodge in southwestern Uganda. It is located in the Queen Elizabeth National Park, about a 5-6 hour drive from Kampala. I recall we saw a diverse number of animals, more than on safari in Kenya. During a boat ride on one of the nearby lakes, we saw hippos, elephants, crocodiles, birds and several other species. One morning we woke to find monkeys outside our doors and a lion had been spotted earlier. Uganda is a beautiful country. Enjoy!
