Question
From a canal boat to a luxury 5-star property, Holland is full of interesting ideas for where to lay your head after a full day of taking in the sights. What’s your favorite accommodation that you’ve stayed at in Holland and why?

The Ambassador Hotel. I don't recall the canal but it's in a great location, only 1 block from the mayor's home in a ritzy area, about 4 blocks from the Anne Frank museum, walking distance to almost everything!

Add a commentMy favorite way to travel is to rent an apartment for at least several days. By staying in one place longer you get to see more sites AND chill out for a while. By renting an apartment you get to spread out, make your own coffee and do your laundry.
My husband and I just stayed at Heerentwee, a lovely apartment in a fantastic section of Amsterdam. When I told a local Amsterdammer that we were staying on Heerengracht he was impressed. The apartment's huge windows overlook two canals. You can sit by the window with a glass of wine and watch the boats, bikes and pedestrians go by. Better than TV any day.
