Chef Wilo Benet's restaurants, Pikayo and Varita in San Juan are both great. Varita is more casual. Aguaviva in Old San Juan does Nuevo Latino seafood dishes.
Isabela is the tiny town right next to Rincon. Bizarrely, the Texaco on Highway 110 in Isabela, is like the social hub of town with live music in the back parking lot on Sundays and a black tent with a sign that reads “Killer Tacos and Pinchos” where a local surfer woman cooks up ridiculously good, cheap food. Ola Lola's is another great restaurant in Isabela. It's really just a green shack off the road with a handful of tables and barstools. A cute couple from Kalamazoo run it. They make the best pina coladas I've ever had and serve a peanut butter burger which sounds awful but is oddly delicious.

Add a commentIn Rincon, there is Shipwreck Grill (it's more "American" type cuisine), Pool Bar for sushi, Calypso for a mix of things, Ode to the Elephants for thai food, Das Alpen for German food, Mi Familias Pizza for some really good, homestyle pizza with ingredients straight from the man's garden.
In San Juan, I love Trianas, a tapas restraint down near the docks.
