anyone have any good suggestions for a fun, chill new year's eve in or near NYC?

I suggest booking a 9:30pm table at a restaurant. Once you're out of the tourist areas of Manhattan, many restaurants have their same menu or a reasonably priced set menu on NYE. That way, you have a nice meal and you're in a festive environment when the clock turns midnight.

Add a commentHow about the Midnight Run in Central Park? 4 miles with runners in costumes, bands, fireworks. If you don't want to run, put on a costume and join the parade. Check out the New York Roadrunners Club website for details (www.nyrr.org).

$100. Lots of specialty beers and food included. Limited to 150 people. I'm going.
