Any suggestions for someone going to Sunway Lagoon Waterpark in Selangor, Malaysia ? Is there a better option ? What about the beaches ? Do you have recommendations for surfers staying one week in Malaysia ?

At one time there was great surfing in Penang on Batu Ferringhi. Also on the South China Sea side.

Sunway Lagoon Waterpark is a fun place for kids and families. If you don't mind surfing in an artificial environment, then it could be ok. But if I were a surfer (which I'm not) I wouldn't go there for surfing.
The beaches on the east side of Malaysia (e.g. Pahang, Terengganu) tend to be nicer than the west. Check out the islands of Redand or Perhentian. One of my favorite places to relax is Langkawi (on the west coast).
