Pick of the city gates?
The Złota Brama is one of the many city gates leading into "old" Gdańsk although, built in 1614 some 60-70m beyond the larger & more robust Brama Wyzynna (Upland Gate), it never functioned as a first line of defence. Which probably explains why it is so pretty ;) Situated at the top of Ulica Długa (Long Street) and typically surrounded by gaping tour groups, it's virtually impossible to miss. The 8 figures which sit atop the gate, each representing a different virtue to be exercised by the city's inhabitants, are a particularly nice touch.
