Situated west of Nazareth, Zippori National Park includes the ancient city of Zippori, with its Roman, Jewish and Christian buildings, sites and ruins. A climb to the top of the partially restored Roman theater offers sweeping views of the valley and Upper Galilee mountains, while exploring the 1st-century underground cistern is an education in ancient waterworks. Zippori also has spectacular mosaics, including a 3rd-century depiction of Dionysus that is sometimes referred to as the Mona Lisa of the Galilee.
