The Poetry of Yeats Country
County Sligo was a favourite haunt of poet WB Yeats, who set many of his most famous works among the county's forests, hills and lakes. Take a leisurely day and follow the Yeats Country signposted trail around the locations in the area that inspired him, taking in Glencar Lough, the Isle of Innisfree, Rosses Point, Ben Bulben (pictured), Lissadell House and finally the churchyard at Drumcliffe, where Yeats is buried.
