There’s always something doing in Abu Dhabi, but certain marquee events are worth getting on the calendar—well in advance. In December, the Abu Dhabi Food Festival brings together a smorgasbord of chefs to show off the finest dishes from the Emirates and beyond. In November, the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix returns to Yas Marina Circuit for its eighth heart-pounding season. Big-name music concerts take place during the Formula 1, helping draw music fans as well as die-hard racing enthusiasts. Abu Dhabi Art also takes place in November, showcasing the handiwork of contemporary international artists in a series of free exhibitions on Saadiyat Island’s UAE Pavilion, a dazzling dune-like structure.

Yas Island Thrills
Professional racecar drivers descend on Abu Dhabi each November for the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. But why let the pros have all the fun? You can take the wheel of an Aston Martin or Mercedes-AMG and give the Formula 1 track a go on Yas Marina Circuit. Steering around the bends and speeding along the straights is sure to get your adrenaline pumping. For more thrills, head next door to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi for a ride on Formula Rossa, the world’s fastest roller coaster, or newcomer Flying Aces, which will boast the world’s highest loop and steepest incline. Either way, a rush is guaranteed.
