Kimamaya is the Japanese word for “be yourself,” and the laid-back nine-room hotel in the Niseko ski area encourages you to do just that.
With a 600-inch average annual snowfall, Niseko has been called the Whistler of Asia. Kimamaya’s staff can arrange ski rentals, lessons, guides, and an obento (lunch box) for your daypack.
Vintages poured in the Living Lounge come from a vineyard in Burgundy, France, owned by the family of Nicolas Gontard, the cofounder responsible for the hotel’s recent renovation.
Ski from late November through late May.
From $150. 81/(0) 136-23-2603.
