From their website, "At an altitude of 1612m, surrounded by majestic mountains at the very spine of the Atlas range, whose impressive ravines stretch out to the winds in the sky, the Xaluca Dades Hotel, enjoys a panoramic view of the Dades Valley, sprinkled with friendly Berber villages and snowy peaks."
It would be hard to describe the Hotel Xaluca Dades best asset, its location, any better. Its second best asset is most certainly its pool deck. After that, the usual aspects one desires in a good hotel are all present. This, is surprising for Morocco. After 3 weeks of travel switching lodging every few nights, I began to feel that a nice hotel was more an anomaly than it was the norm.
Xaluca has WiFi, hot showers, comfortable beds, an extensive menu in a welcoming venue, a well-stocked bar, a gift shop and luxurious details that might not meet the western equivalent of 5-star but most certainly elevate the hotel in the ranks of typical Moroccan accommodations.
It would be best to visit in warm weather. In November, the winds are strong enough to lift you right off the pool deck and carry you into the valley! Never mind swimming or enjoying a soak in the jacuzzi!
At breakfast, make sure to ask for fresh pomegranate. They won't put it out but they do have it and it's one of the best things you can enjoy early in the morning. Also, fresh-baked cookies are on offer in the lobby every day along with hot mint tea when you first check in.
