Once an industrial district, West Bund is a newly redeveloped area in the Xuhui district that houses several impressive art galleries, including the highly-buzzed Long Museum, as well as the Yuz Museum, and the West Bund Art Centre. As such, it is quickly becoming the city’s latest art and culture hub. Aside from arts-oriented establishments, a promenade has opened along the Huagnpu River, introducing walkways, restaurants, a skateboard park, a child-friendly outdoor climbing wall, and basketball courts. As it that wasn’t enough Oriental Dreamworks is due to open a massive entertainment complex, complete with an IMAX theater, in 2016.
