I wanted a week away from technology, and so I rented a farm house in Lazio, Italy. The nearest town, pictured above, was Vitorchiano. It's a cliffside medieval village with a long-standing identity as an affiliate to room. The two restaurants in town that I tried both served typical (and delicious) Roman food.
I think my favorite part about the town (which is captured in the picture above) is how people live in these seemingly precarious homes. No caged off museum pieces here. Laundry hangs over the cliffside. Windows open onto precarious drops.
