I am sure (actually I know) that tacos are not a traditional food of Nicaragua. The food has been imported by the flux of Northern surfers who flock the town throughout the year. That being said, there are some good tacos to be had throughout San Juan Del Sur. Like some really good tacos. The best by far were the fish and shrimp tacos at Tacos Locos in Playa Maderas. The fish was so fresh you could still taste a hint of salt from the sea. What is even better is the service. Alberto is a delightful individual who greeted us with a smile and a warm and genuine, "Hola!" He works hard, and plays baseball. He has dreams and aspirations, and he is a great person. Say hi to Alberto and ask for the Pitaya (Dragon Fruit) drink with rum. You won't be disappointed by the nice buzz and the electric color of the drink.
