Mounties on Parade
The red uniforms and wide-brimmed hats of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police are one of the most iconic images of Canada.
Here in British Columbia, they are more than symbolic. The fulfill the duties of the provincial police in keeping our communities safe.
This group of Mounties is preparing to march in the Remembrance Day commemoration, observed every year on 11 November to mark the anniversary of the end of World War I.
In Vancouver, military and police units parade near Victory Square in downtown, followed by a wreath laying. Veterans, families, and all kinds of people gather with red poppies affixed to their coats.
