This is one the oldest of the ancient Roman Coliseums, but it is not a relic - it still hosts concerts and the Verona Opera. An amazing venue to enjoy a live performance.

One Night Only: 5 Classic Operas in One Night

During the Verona Opera season you may be lucky enough to be there on its opening night in June which is televised and offers a sampling of all the operas to be featured that season. It was my first time at any opera and to be experiencing all the classic songs in an ancient amphitheatre in one night...it still brings goosebumps to my arms and makes me hum the popular Aida orchestral music. You may not know if you enjoy opera, you might be dead set against it but you’ll be swayed in the most memorable way if you experience it from June to September beneath the stars in a historic theatre that hosted audiences hungry for blood, justice, and entertainment. I am proud to say I have become part of the ancient arena’s history.
