This Calatrava-designed complex is dedicated to science and cultural propagation. Aptly named “city”, it feels like visitors are transported to a separate destination, a futuristic complex comprising five units: the Hemisfèric (IMAX cinema and digital projections), the Umbracle (a landscaped vista and car park), the Príncipe Felipe Science (the science museum), the Oceanográfico (one of the largest aquariums in the world) and the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía (for opera). With tons of interactive displays, it’s great for the whole family, a spectacle of architecture and modernity to behold. You’ll want to spend an entire day to see as much as possible.
