Of course we think of meat & potatoes when we think of Germany, but Berlin has a whole lot more to offer, so don't be dissuaded from traveling here because of dietary concerns. La Mano Verde is tucked behind some unappealing buildings, but once you pass through the shopping center/office hallway you reach a pleasant garden and a very nice restaurant. Everything on the menu is vegan, and much of it is also raw or gluten free. And it is delicious! I think in America we tend to think of young people and hippies when we think of this kind of food, but La Mano Verde is nothing like that. It is definitely a white-tablecloth-restaurant. I will warn you that it is pricey and an entree alone probably won't fill you up.
Another fantastic vegan restaurant in Berlin is Kopps. I don't have a picture so I didn't want to upload a separate highlight, but the address is Linienstrße 94. This is also a more formal restaurant with a bit of unnecessary pretention. Unnecessary because the clientele don't seem to ask for it, however their food deserves it 100%. Try the cordon bleu - it's better than any piece of chicken I've had! Unlike La Mano Verde, you will walk away from here with a full stomach and not too much damage to the pocketbook. They also have a good cocktail bar. I recommend the Kopps Russian, made with soy milk.
