Co-owned by my former Canadian Literature professor at University of Toronto, Joanne Saul, Type is the bookstore she has always dreamed of opening. You can't help but be charmed by this 'little bookstore that could' when you walk in; it's decorated with ornate damask wallpaper and a chandelier.
Type has an array of fiction and nonfiction as well as my favorite topic: travel. A lot of highbrow magazines are on display as well. There's also a cluster of lifestyle products like stationery and greeting cards.
From time to time, the store hosts readings. This is a perfect spot to drop in if you're passing by Trinity Bellwoods Park on a Queen Street stroll. Maybe you'll find a new treasure, too.
