A Few Steps from Delirious New Delhi, Find a Peaceful Moment
Building began on this fort in the year 1321 AD. It is a citadel with towers, fortifications, and bastions. The fort is a beautiful half-day experience perfectly suited to that point in your travel itinerary when your head is spinning from the craziness of New Delhi and you just need a moment to think, absorb, and relax—a little peace and quiet. For history buffs, these rocks just sing stories loud and proud. For walkers and hikers, though not anyone's notion of a challenging trek, still the four mile circuit that is this fort gives you room to stretch your legs and test your stride, if that's your thing. It isn't suited to travelers with young children, but it's easily doable for teens and above.
