Tsuboya Pottery Museum

Pottery has been a principal Okinawan craft since at least the time of the Ryukyu Kingdom (1429–1879), and this museum—located in Naha’s pottery district—is the place to discover its history and development across the ages, and to learn about practical techniques. It features many traditional examples from various eras (including fragments from the 17th century as well as more-recent domestic pieces) and tools of the trade such as potter's wheels. The museum offers an English-language audio guide.
