Craft beers are becoming a major global trend, and Peru is by no means exempt. There are several great craft beer brands in Perú, including Barbarian, Cumbres, Moustache, Nuevo Mundo, and Magdalena. Some of them even feature unique Peruvian flavors: think blue corn or quinoa beer! One pioneer brewery is "Sierra Andina" in Huaraz, where there's also a themed gastropub. Their delicious signature labels carry names and flavors from the Andean Region: e.g. Don Juan Porter, Inti Golden Ale, Alpamayo Amber Ale, and Huaracina Pale Ale. After a long day of hiking, treat yourself to a cold local beer and some native potato chips with Peruvian chili sauce or some paria cheese.
