Are We There Yet? The Transandine Railway
While driving along the international route from Mendoza, Argentina to Santiago, Chile you can see parts of the decommissioned railroad from the old Transandine Railway. Railroad service was suspended in 1978 due to tensions between Argentina & Chile and while the two countries agreed to make plans for restoration in 2009, nothing has come of it & the bridges currently serve only as another point of visual interest along this stunning drive.
