Quiet, peaceful mornings in this small northwestern Italian town are lovely! I enjoyed sitting on the balcony outside my bedroom in the mornings, watching the line-drying clothing come alive in the breeze and the shades of the colorful houses changing as the sun rose higher into the sky. The mornings are clear, providing great views of the magnificent Alps; the afternoons are more cloudy, providing much needed shade in the summer. Torre Pellice has some good hikes, interesting history, and a large market (considering the size of this two-traffic light town). A local gelateria owned by a man with a doctorate degree in making gelato impressed me with creative flavors and the perfect texture and temperature for gelato, and I also ate the best pizza of my life in a small, local pizzeria near my lodging. I hope to eventually return to this sweet mountain town during winter to experience the spectacular views and fresh air of the snowy season.
