Tidepooling at Schooner Cove in Pacific Rim National Park
There are many wonderful beaches in the Pacific Rim National Park on Vancouver Island, but Schooner Cove is an extraordinary and accessible treasure, about twenty minutes south of Tofino. Small islets just off the coast at high tide become accessible at low tide. For anybody who enjoys tidepooling, these islets are a dream: brightly colored starfish, sea anenomes and unusual crabs, fish and shells abound.
Access to Schoover Cover is via a trail. A large section of the trail from the trail parking lot is on elevated boardwalk, making the mile-long walk accessible to many.
