Tijuana Slough National Wildlife Refuge

More than 370 species of birds have been recorded at the Tijuana Slough, a wetland and wildlife refuge where the Tijuana River meets the Pacific Ocean. Research and education activities here are handled by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA); bird-watchers and nature lovers will find it well worth the trip. Visitors will discover terrific guided bird and nature walks along six kilometers (four miles) of trails and interactive exhibits in the native-plant gardens.
