Tierra del Fuego National Park

It sounds vast, but 622 square kilometers (240 square miles) is quite small as national parks go in Tierra del Fuego. The Argentine park of the same name, just outside the city of Ushuaia, stretches along six kilometers (four miles) of the Beagle Channel, where condors fly overhead and tiny oystercatchers share the shore with an albatross called the black-browed mollymawk. The park is also home to the Martial Glacier and a portion of the early-1900s End of the World train line, which dates from the period when Tierra del Fuego was a penal colony.
